EVOQUE
Primer Grey Makes Repair Cheaper
The Range Rover Evoque is a compact Sports Utility Vehicle from Land Rover, available in both three- and five-door versions, which went into production in July 2011. The Evoque is designed to appeal to ladies and meet requirements for lower CO2, emissions and easier parking.
In its first year of production, Land Rover sold 80,000 units of the Evoque and 10 footballers finally got to drive their own Range Rover Sports, this figure should have been 80,000 but many of them couldn't work out how to complete the survey due to the fact it had more words than pictures.
On 11 March 2009, the UK government announced a £27 million grant to Land Rover to produce an all-new model, subject to the conditions that the Evoque would be manufactured at its Halewood facility in Liverpool. Production has been stepped up recently to keep up with the demand for the Evoque, partially because they were built in Liverpool so half of them were pinched before they reached the dealers.
The car was launched as two distinct models: the five-door Evoque for the school run and the three-door Evoque Coupé for the footballers wives and girlfriends (Wags). The five-door model is available in three trim levels - Pure, Prestige and Dynamic. While the "Evoque Coupè" is only available in two trim levels- "Pure" and "Dynamic" because Wags are easier to please. Land Rover markets the Pure as the minimalist version rather than the "base model" simply because no wag will accept their husband buying them a base model as it sounds cheap and may clash with their Guicci handbag.

At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show , Land Rover unveiled an Evoque Convertible Concept, calling it "The world’s first premium SUV convertible". This has not yet been built due to uncertaintanty as to the legality of having a personal hairdresser constantly keep your hair looking good whilst driving. The vehicle is based on the three-door Evoque Coupè but with seats for four, and has a power-retractable soft top roof. Land Rover has stated that: "The new convertible body has been achieved with minimum changes to weight and torsional rigidity. Land Rover has also stated that the Convertible Concept is as off-road ready as the regular Evoque, so it should be safe for ladies to park. |
